Buffalo String Works (BSW) was founded to provide high level music education to students who otherwise would not have access to its benefits.

We will prioritize students in the city of Buffalo who are underserved and have limited financial resources. More information about eligibility can be found below. We are currently enrolling students both with and without string experience in grades 3-12 for the 2026-27 Academic Year.

  • Students must attend a school within the city of Buffalo.

  • BSW will prioritize families who make less than $60,000 per year.

  • Special consideration may be given to students who experience other access barriers (historically marginalized youth, no availability of instrument instruction at school, etc).

To reduce barriers, all of our services are offered to students and their families free of charge. If you are interested in signing your student up for classes, please fill out the interest form.

Buffalo String Works has made my children feel very special. I hope that the program will continue to grow so that other children can feel just as special.
