Stand with us.
Every gift is a bow drawn across a kid’s future.
BSW is 100% tuition-free. That’s only possible because of neighbors, families, and music-lovers who believe Buffalo sounds better when every kid gets to play.

Contribute
Every contribution helps to support a rigorous and student-centered program that develops leaders in our community. Buffalo String Works helps students develop essential life skills through the experience of learning alongside their peers.
Our students contribute $1 per lesson as a token payment if they are able but as you might expect, this does not cover our annual expenses. Your generous contribution will go towards the essentials, including instrument acquisition, Teaching Artist salaries, and transportation to performances.
Buffalo String Works is a 501(c)3 organization. Your donation is tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
BSW classes run from 4:00-5:45pm Monday through Friday, but volunteer assistance is needed starting at 3:00pm!
-
Have no fear! Plenty of our volunteers don’t have musical experience - they help out with snacks, classroom management, keeping our classrooms neat and tidy, and more!
-
If you don’t want to help out in a BSW classroom, that’s totally okay! We have frequent calls for office assistance.
-
We are grateful for any time that our volunteers give to us! If you are a classroom/on-site assistant, you will likely have a weekly schedule; if you are interested in helping out with administrative tasks, we typically have calls for volunteers when a job is needed to be done. That being said, we are very flexible and can work around any schedule!
