Are you interested in volunteering at Buffalo String Works?

Buffalo String Works wants YOU! Whether you’re looking for service hours for a high school or college requirement, or you’re looking to stay active in your community as a side or retirement hobby, there is a place for you here.

Ways YOU can get involved:

  • Provide direct student support as a Classroom Assistant

  • Help with administrative tasks in our office, like writing appeal notes, stuffing and sealing newsletters, and more

  • Consult with the BSW staff team to provide professional services, such as legal advice, professional development, or other support

  • Join one of our Board Committees!

VOLUNTEERING FAQs

What time does your program run?
BSW classes run from 4:00-5:45pm Monday through Friday, but volunteer assistance is needed starting at 3:00pm!

What if I’m not a musician?
Have no fear! Plenty of our volunteers don’t have musical experience - they help out with snacks, classroom management, keeping our classrooms neat and tidy, and more!

What non-classroom volunteer opportunities are there?
If you don’t want to help out in a BSW classroom, that’s totally okay! We have frequent calls for office assistance.

What is the time commitment for volunteering?
We are grateful for any time that our volunteers give to us! If you are a classroom/on-site assistant, you will likely have a weekly schedule; if you are interested in helping out with administrative tasks, we typically have calls for volunteers when a job is needed to be done. That being said, we are very flexible and can work around any schedule!
