Buffalo String Works’ Community Ensemble

Our Advanced Ensemble has recently evolved into Buffalo String Works’ very own Community Ensemble! How did we get here? Well, as our students’ connection with music and their instruments deepened, conversations about how that experience could be shared with our neighbors began to bubble and rise to the surface. And essentially, what was born was a group of students dedicated to the craft of their instrument and equally dedicated to bridging communities through joyful music-making.

The ensemble will be collaborating with partner organizations to bring meaningful musical experiences to underserved communities across the region while helping students grow as musicians, leaders, and ambassadors of service. Students were selected because of their musical promise, commitment, and potential to contribute to this unique ensemble. In addition to creating these community-based musical experiences, CE students will also be participating in rehearsals, training, planning sessions, and other select compensated performance opportunities as they arise.
